8 Days to Yellowstone, Glacier, and Grand Teton National Parks
Day One: Depart SLC, head north towards West Yellowstone. We will experience some stunning scenery with a chance to explore a couple of very scenic byways on our way north. Natural beauty, history, geology, a great first day intro to the region.
Lodging in West Yellowstone this evening with a late afternoon visit to the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center, or a visit to the Yellowstone Imax theater. Dinner and shopping on your own in town.
Day Two: Depart West Yellowstone, MT and head into Yellowstone National Park. We will spend a full day in Yellowstone National Park exploring numerous Geyser Basins, including the Old Faithful area, Lake Yellowstone, Hayden Valley, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River (Upper and lower Falls), Dunraven Pass, Tower Falls, Mammoth Hot Springs, and many other viewpoints and points of interests.
We will lodge in Gardiner, MT this night, diner and shopping on your own in town.
Day Three: Depart Gardiner and head towards Glacier National Park Montana. A couple of stops along the way, scenic vistas and scenic byways to be enjoyed.
Lodging in Whitefish or Colombia Falls Montana. Dinner and shopping on your own in town.
Day Four: A day spent exploring Glacier National Park. Going to the Sun Road, viewpoints and short hikes, also a scenic boat cruise on one of the beautiful lakes within Glacier park. An afternoon spent in the bus traveling to Red Lodge Montana. Lodging in Red Lodge this evening, dinner on your own in town.
Day Five: Departing Red Lodge and traveling over the Beartooth Highway into the Northeast corner of Yellowstone. We will spend the rest of the day exploring the remaining half of Yellowtone on our way south. We will travel to Jackson, Wyoming this evening, lodging in Jackson. Dinner and shopping in town on your own.
Day Six: Depart Jackson and head into Grand Teton National Park for the day. A full day spent exploring one of the most dramatic National Parks in the Nation. Wildlife, stunning scenery, history, geology, etc. Many viewpoints, also a short boat cruise and hike to be enjoyed on Jenny Lake within Grand Teton. Lodging again in Jackson, Wyoming.
Day Seven: An early morning scenic float trip on the Snake River, then heading south towards Salt Lake City. Lodging in Salt Lake City.
Day Eight: A day spent exploring Salt Lake City. Morning tour of Temple Square, downtown Salt Lake as well. Afternoon we will head up to Snowbird for a scenic Aeriel Tram ride in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Group dinner this night in Salt Lake. Lodging in Salt Lake.
Day Nine: Fly out of Salt Lake.
